Our History

Founded in 2003 by Ricky Gill and Colin Fraser, Cable Solutions Worldwide has steadily built a reputation as a leading player in the global cable sales market. From the beginning, Cable Solutions Worldwide forged a pivotal partnership with AmerCable and achieved exclusive distributorship status in 2012.

The addition of David Gill in 2005 to head the subsea division marked a significant strategic move, followed by the appointment of John Rickman in 2015 to further strengthen the company’s senior leadership team.

In 2016, the company achieving a major financial milestone with a substantial order for Top Drive Service Loops, solidifying Cable Solutions’ position in the market.  

The appointment of Graham Ross as Business Development Manager two years later further bolstered the company’s efforts to expand its global market presence and forge strong partnerships.  Graham’s role plays a pivotal part in building bridges and bringing in new opportunities.

In 2019, the company took another leap forward by moving to a purpose-built facility in Inverurie, a transformation that bolstered cable stock and operational capabilities. By heavily investing in assets and stock that same year, Cable Solutions emerged as the UK’s largest stockist of NEK 606 Cables. Moreover, the company’s manufacturing prowess was highlighted by the production of over 50km of bespoke subsea cables in various configurations for clients worldwide.

Navigating the challenges of 2020, Cable Solutions demonstrated adaptability by aligning operations with customer needs and embracing a strategic shift towards sustainable energy solutions in 2021.

The year 2022 ushered in a transformative change as Dron & Dickson acquired Cable Solutions, heralding a new chapter for the company. With Scott Grant stepping into the role of General Manager, Cable Solutions is poised to leverage this new ownership to continue exceeding customer expectations, exploring fresh opportunities, and delivering top-quality cable solutions in today’s dynamic industry landscape.
